BULLIES is the trite tale of a peaceful, hardworking family terrorized by a group of demented locals who have everyone in the town wrapped around their sadistic fingers. The Morris clan--wimpy dad (Hunter), pretty mom (Green), and their teenage son from her first marriage, (Crombie)--have just arrived from the city to run a grocery store in a small town. Soon the Morris clan hears stories of the nasty Cullens, led by the bearish, voracious (Nunn), the town's wealthiest, most-threatening, and most-controlling family. The Morrises soon become the target of the Cullens' wrath. Everything here is predictable and has been seen in countless other films of this sort. Fortunately, the acting saves BULLIES from being a complete waste. Crombie, in his first feature appearance, manages to make his character believable. Hunter brings some substance to his character. And Green does a fine job with an underwritten role. leave a comment
