Nineteenth-century Robin Hood tale starring Brazzi as a swordsman who kills his rival on his wedding day to steal the lovely Cortese away. Because of the murder, Brazzi is forced to become a bandit who steals from the rich and gives to the poor. Brazzi becomes preoccupied with his banditry (and a new mistress), causing the snubbed Cortese to get her revenge by turning the villagers against the robber.
