Bug

1975, Movie, PG, 99 mins

The best part of BUG is Charlie Fox's electronic music. If one could shut off the dialog and just listen to the music, it would be a neat album. Unfortunately, the actors keep talking. What they talk about is mutated cockroaches due to a quake at the center of the earth. The bugs come out, eat carbon, travel around in cars, and hide out in tail pipes. Dillman is a scientist who loses his wife to the insects. He becomes a recluse midway through the story, and the film goes to sleep along with him. A few scary moments, but that's about it. Technical credits are good, actors are fair, direction is mediocre, but the public squashed BUG.
