Nine-year-old Jackie "Butch" Jenkins plays Lewis Penrose, a kid with psychic powers that enable him to converse with racehorses. The horses give him "inside" information on races, prompting gamblers to try to exploit the young prognosticator for their own wicked purposes. This was Fred Zinnemann's third film with Jenkins, and he directs well, overdoing neither sentimentality nor comedy. The film looks good with fine art decoration and photography. The kids will eat it up. leave a comment
