Bride Of The Gorilla

An amusingly bad horror film, written and directed by Curt Siodmak, who seems to be cribbing from his script for THE WOLF MAN (1941). Barney Chavez (Raymond Burr) is a rubber plantation foreman who falls into an affair with his boss's bored wife, Dina (Barbara Payton). This leads to Chavez's murdering his boss and marrying Dina. An old servant, however, puts something in Chavez's drink that causes him to turn into a murderous gorilla-man by night. Local police chief Taro (played by Lon Chaney, Jr., who, of course, was the wolf man in the aforementioned Siodmak effort) must solve the killings.
