New England school teacher, Allyson, an aspiring commercial artist, wins a job illustrating the new book by a popular children's author known as "Uncle Bump." Upon arrival in New York she learns that "Uncle Bump" is Johnson, a hard-drinking, child-hating young writer. Feeling that Johnson
