Young aspiring composer Hepburn meets and falls madly in love with prestigious orchestra conductor Boyer, and the two marry, spending a romantic honeymoon in Europe. Hepburn soon discovers that Boyer's passion for music is equal to his passion for other women and she leaves him. Forsaking his career and his mistress, Boyer sinks into alocholic despair and near oblivion.
