One of Cooper's worst films has him playing a Union cavalry captain who volunteers to be a spy when he's jilted by his girl friend. He goes behind enemy lines and ends up at the mansion of Brian. They fall in love, and each time Cooper tries to get himself arrested and get the fake battle
plans into Confederate hands, Brian always intervenes. Cooper finally manages to pull it off and ends up in front of a firing squad because of it. A Union detachment arrives in the nick of time, and after the war is over Cooper and Brian are married. The script is stilted and the direction
uninspired.
