Byrd and Bond are truckers charged with delivering a shipment of dynamite to a distant town where it will be used to blow up a dam, an action that will foil a scheme by unscrupulous real estate brokers to steal the land below. A number of obstacles block the way but justice triumphs; the
dam is destroyed, the ranchers are saved, and Byrd and Weston sing into the fadeout. Scripted by famed writer Nathanael West ("Miss Lonelyhearts," "The Day of the Locust"). West and his wife, Eileen McKenney (whose early life was the basis for MY SISTER EILEEN, 1942, 1955), were killed in an
automobile accident in 1940.
