Unwed mother Young, constantly telling son Kelk to toughen up and take what you can in life, is horrified to learn one day that he has been hit by a truck. The horror, however, quickly dissipates when she learns that Kelk is alive and that the truck was being driven by millionaire Grant, who was simply trying to keep in touch with the transportation side of his dairy business. Greedy Young and her dishonest lawyer quickly plan a huge lawsuit, complete with faked doctors' reports, but when their plot is exposed, Young loses custody of the boy to the magnanimous Grant. Deciding that she can get her son back and a bit of Grant's fortune in one swift move, Young tries to seduce the adoptive father away from his devoted wife, Burns. Young succeeds in stirring Grant's passion and is about to expose his attraction, when Grant unsuspensefully informs his wife of the entire affair. When Burns saves Kelk from drowning in a swimming pool, Young becomes aware of the good nature of people and leaves her son with Grant, knowing that the boy will grow up to be a better person. Poorly scripted, manipulative attempt at social drama that fails to create any interest in the story or its people. Young tries to breathe some life into her unappealing character; Grant turns in one of his most uninspired performances. leave a comment
