Bolero

This production has nothing to do with the 1934 George Raft BOLERO, the 1984 Bo Derek starrer, or much of anything else for that matter, except that the characters--played by actors in multiple roles over a 50-year time span and several generations--are all music aficionados. Viewers will have a hard time determining who's who, let alone trying to follow the almost nonexistent plot. Director-writer Claude Lelouch (A MAN AND A WOMAN) not surprisingly presents some attractive scenery, and some of the numbers are interesting, but Lelouch doesn't have a handle on his subject.
