Good though melodramatic story of American flyers in the RAF during WW I. Commanding officer MacLaren demands that the German observation balloons near the front be blown up, a dangerous mission since the balloonists are equipped with machine guns. Bogart makes a daredevil attempt to destroy a balloon and is killed in the process, but Farrell does the job and credits his slain pal with the deed.
