An excellent crime drama in the style of Raymond Chandler, James M. Cain and Dashiell Hammett. Director-writer Lawrence Kasdan borrows liberally in style from '40s film noir and incorporates a plot reminiscent of Double Indemnity, but with all the steamy sex pushed to the fore and made quite explicit. William Hurt stars as a Florida attorney who gets involved with a dame (Kathleen Turner) with a rich, inconvenient husband. With a young Mickey Rourke and a tap-dancing Ted Danson.
