This compact little crime drama roughly parallels the Brink's caper. Lack of frills, nuances, and philosophical clutter create a businesslike tone to the production which should delight enthusiasts of this kind of picture. The script, while straightforward, is repetitious. The best moments are those without dialog, particularly a 15-minute scene where the thugs indulge in a bit of inside reconnaissance avoiding a night watchman and a maze of alarms and electric eyes to obtain the necessary impressions for the job of key-making. The preparatory stages of the heist, the $4,700,000 stick-up, and the deterioration of the plan through greed, impatience, and inability to resist the temptation of petty pilfering by gang members are the best scenes in the film. leave a comment
