Blue Streak

A dumbed-down variation on the BEVERLY HILLS COP formula, designed to showcase the manic talents of Martin Lawrence. That said, it really could be a whole lot worse. L.A.-based jewel thief Miles Logan (Lawrence) and his three-man crew execute a flawless, high-tech heist that nets an enormous diamond. Then everything goes straight to hell. Stone-cold bad guy Deacon (Peter Greene) turns on the others; one of the gang is killed, driver Tulley (David Chapelle) flees and Miles gets picked up by the cops — but not before he's stashed the gem in an air conditioning duct of an unfinished building.
