Camp Placid Pines is bloodied by a series of gruesome murders in this FRIDAY THE 13th rip off. Years ago, young Trevor Moorhouse nearly died due to the neglect of teenage staffers; after Moorhouse slaughtered these lazybones, the camp was shut down and one victim was never located. Five years later, Tracy (Katy Woodruff) decides to deal with her brother's disappearance during the camp massacre by becoming a counselor. Chief counselor Rick (Arthur Benjamin) dismisses the notion of Trevor Moorhouse's spirit stalking the woods for fresh blood, but the adolescents soon learn that there's an element of truth in the tall tale. Visiting worker James (Lane Anderson) is killed by stabbing, leg amputation and head-bashing. Then heartthrob Ryan (Tom Mullen) is tortured with darts and buried alive. Tracy's boyfriend Mike (Kelly Cunning) cheats on her with slutty Angela (Tiffany Shepis), and the police find incriminating evidence in Mike's cabin. But Rick has also been behaving oddly. Local Sheriff Miller (John Colton) investigates, but seems oddly detached from his job and during subsequent attacks on the campers, the Sheriff's deputies only get knocked out. For some reason, the killer only targets teens. Perhaps Trevor Moorhouse is still alive, or perhaps his ghost really does still haunt the camp. One thing is certain; Trevor has an advocate who believes that Camp Placid Pines should never have reopened. Marginally better than its predecessor, BLOODY MURDER (2000), this slasher picture offers minimal suspense and a bogus surprise ending. The creative homicides are really the only draw. leave a comment --Robert Pardi
