Blood Sisters: Review
This poorly paced horror tale follows a group of sorority pledges forced to spend an evening in an abandoned old house, which was formerly a house of prostitution. Sorority sister Linda (Amy Brentano) is in charge of the affair, and orders the pledges on a scavenger hunt. As the girls wander around the twisting halls and empty rooms, they glimpse apparitions of prostitutes, and each time one of the pledges looks into a mirror, she enters a trancelike state and has a vision of the prostitutes who years ago occupied the room. As the night grows darker, the pledges disappear one by one, dying at the hands of an unseen attacker wearing a negligee. A standard slasher entry, BLOOD SISTERS is of interest only because it was directed by Roberta Findlay, one of the more legendary names in exploitation films. Findlay is perhaps best remembered for SNUFF, a movie in which the film's crew apparently murdered an actress before the cameras. It proved to be a hoax that sent many bloodthirsty viewers searching for
real
"snuff" films. (For the curious, none has ever been documented.)
