Al Adamson strikes again, this time presiding over the sad, sad end of the long, distinguished careers of J. Carrol Naish and Lon Chaney, Jr. Naish, who came out of retirement to embarrass himself here, plays a wheelchair-bound Dr. Frankenstein, who is posing as the curator of a horror museum while working on a rejuvenating blood serum. Chaney, who spent his entire career trying to break free of typecasting after his magnificent portrayal of the imbecilic Lenny in OF MICE AND MEN (1939), ends his acting days with a pathetic parody of Lenny as Groton, Frankenstein's "mad zombie" assistant, who is sent out to kill young girls for further experiments.
