There's a smallpox outbreak in Blackfoot country and Bess, a Mormon girl played by Coates, must transport the serum across hostile Indian territory to save the lives of the other families in the valley where she lives. Brady (a scout), Haggerty (a trapper), and Richards (a gambler who
thinks there may be gold in the valley) decide to help her. Lots of Indian attacks, but it's generally a bore. Richards is totally wasted in this film, as is Haggerty. Blame the usually reliable Charles Marquis Warren, who served as executive producer on such memorable TV westerns as "Gunsmoke,"
"Rawhide," and "The Virginian."
