Blondie Goes To College

When a football lands on Lake's lap at a college game, he gets the notion to further his own education. Singleton has her doubts but goes along with him, the pair enrolling as singles, keeping their marriage a secret. Simms is packed off to military school where he soon rises to top sergeant. Lake makes the rowing team, and Singleton is hounded by the Big Man on Campus. Of slight significance to fans of the series is the disclosure of an impending second Bumstead child. The series was beginning to lose steam by the time, though it would struggle on for another nine years.
