After a series of inept crimes, a trio of crooks buys an old fire engine in hopes of using it as a ruse for making clean getaways. Alas, the crooks have to put out a real fire instead. Finally they hire a scandal-ridden former fire chief (Price) and an arsonist (Morley), who help them stage a fire in the boutique next to a bank.
