An uneasy mix of mystery and comedy fails to click in this tale of a blackmailed family whose daughter, Rice, falls for bumbling amateur detective Gargan. Gargan is forced to work with inept police inspector Hurst. Hurst and Gargan play their roles strictly for comedy, which is successful, but when the film strays into serious drama its flaws become apparent. leave a comment
