Blackmailed

Bad story structure saps this blackmail tale of any suspense it might have had. The drama concerns the victims of a murdered blackmailer (Justice) who attempt to conceal the crime. The blackmailer is killed in the first 15 minutes, and the rest of the film deals with the extortion victims' tales of woe, every one of which demonstrates sufficent motive to bump off the deceased. Among the suspects: Flemyng, a doctor who has been guilty of some unethical behavior in his professional career, Bogarde, who is AWOL from the army; Bogarde's girl friend, Rice, who is an escapee from a women's reformatory; and Compton, a patron of the hospital.
