Black comedy requires perfect pitch: Pedro Almodovar has it and cowriters/directors Michalis Reppas and Thanasis Papathanasiou don't, at least by the evidence of this film. The tone is so poorly established that it takes a while to realize its cavalcade of outrageous misfortunes is meant to be farcical, not melodramatic, and the most shocking thing about its lurid stew of adultery, political corruption, rape, gay-sex scandal, trust, blackmail and murder... is its blandness.
