A sensational melodrama about a madman who belongs to a sect that worships animals and feels that the animals take on human souls. Gough runs a private zoo and uses his beasts to wreak havoc on anyone he feels deserves it. His son, Lauren, eventually destroys Gough as his wife, Cooper, watches. Some unique touches include one scene where Gough takes several of his cats (lion, tiger, panther, cougar) and plays the organ for them to prove, we suspect, that music has charms to soothe the savage beast as well as the savage breast. Rod Lauren had a brief career as a rock singer/actor, then disappeared. Gough has always been a favorite of the Screaming Mimi Crowd and doesn't disappoint in this gory portrayal. leave a comment
