One of the best of the disaster films of the 1970s, the genuinely disturbing BLACK SUNDAY is likely to cause nightmares long after you've seen it. Keller and Fehmiu portray "Black September" agents (in a takeoff on the killers who terrorized the 1972 Olympics) who plan to hijack the Goodyear Blimp and send it into the teeming Super Bowl crowd firing thousands of steel darts. Dern, in typical and fine form as a deranged Vietnam veteran, is hired to pilot the killer blimp. Shaw, as an Israeli major, and Weaver, playing a heroic FBI agent, smoothly represent law and order.
