Black Sunday: Review

This early masterpiece from the great Italian horror director Mario Bava is all darkness, fog, howling beasts and cobwebbed dungeons, and features a typically unearthly performance from the uncanny English actress Barbara Steele in a dual role. She plays Asa, a beautiful, vampiric witch princess who is put to death by her brother, then accidentally resurrected to wreak revenge on his descendants — including Asa's lookalike, Katia (also played by Steele).
