Slickly realized, empty, xenophobic thriller. Nick Conklin (Michael Douglas) is a New York vice detective accused of skimming confiscated drug money in the wake of an expensive divorce. He and his partner, Charlie (Andy Garcia), stumble into a gun battle between rival Japanese yakuza criminal groups and Nick collars one of the Japanese, Sato (Yusaku Matsuda).
