Williamson almost saves this somewhat-fuzzy detective movie about the murder of a silent-film star who was involved in a dope-smuggling ring. Williamson, a Los Angeles cop suspended for killing a dope pusher responsible for the death of Williamson's sister, is reinstated to help find the killer of the former movie star. The trail leads him into a mess of episodic scenes, one of which has him tracking down a missing girl involved in the Jesus-freak scene, drugs, lesbianism, and porno movies. The movie fails because it tries to appeal to too many of the sick fantasies of its limited audience. leave a comment
