Frost thinks his father has been reincarnated into a black cat. He gouges out its eye and kills the kitty. The film is all gore from then on, complete with decapitation, axes in the skull, etc. Considering its exploitation-film aesthetics, this is a suprisingly faithful adaptation of the Poe story. leave a comment
