Average martial arts picture brought to you by the team (producers Weintraub and Heller, director Clouse) that made the masterpiece of the genre, ENTER THE DRAGON (1973), which costarred Jim Kelly. This time out, Kelly stars as a martial arts expert who helps Crothers and Crothers' daughter (Hendry) to save their karate studio from demolition by slimy gangsters (Phillipe, Barbi, and Carter), who want the real estate for illegal purposes. The usual lengthy scenes of swinging and kicking are adequate, with Kelly plowing his way through dozens of stupid white gangsters who don't think just to shoot him. Although Kelly can't act, he's a likable guy, and the supporting cast members do their best with the cardboard roles they were assigned. leave a comment
