When McCallum, a mild-mannered tour guide, wins a grand sum of money in a Riviera casino, he's faced with either taking it all back to England and paying taxes on it or investing it in Switzerland. McCallum opts for the latter, all the while being monitored by Koscina, a woman who wants the cash herself. From there it's a supposedly madcap chase across Europe as Koscina enlists the aid of her ex-husband to get the money, while McCallum tries to place it in a Swiss bank account. The result is a no-joke comedy that looks more like a travelog than a feature film. There's plenty of nicely photographed scenery to look at, but that's about it. McCallum, of the popular TV series "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.," merely goes through the motions. leave a comment
