The Bishop's Wife

1947, Movie, NR, 105 mins

This warm, sentimental comedy-fantasy is a follow-up of sorts to the similar but superior It's a Wondeful Life. David Niven plays an Episcopalian bishop whose marriage and faith are both on the rocks when angel Cary Grant comes to the rescue. Loretta Young, the bishop's wife, has no idea that Grant is from "Up There" as he unobtrusively helps her and Niven achieve some peace on earth and goodwill toward each other.
