Lots of good, solid comic performances and a pleasant script in which Ol' Lonesome George (who was a very hot TV star at the time) is a vegetarian. Trouble is that his dad, Clark, is a very important meat packer. Returning on a ship from a trip to the Dark Continent, George falls for Gaynor, who is part of a card-playing cadre of grifters. David Niven is Mitzi's dad and annoyed that she's fallen for this wimp. Bellaver tells George the truth about his loved one and George leaves Mitzi.
