Bikini Beach

In an acting stretch, Frankie Avalon here plays both his usual surfing namesake and a vacationing mop-top English singer named the Potato Bug (the sort of British invader that sank Avalon's recording career), who becomes Frankie's rival for Dee Dee (Annette Funicello). The sandy turf is also threatened by wealthy curmudgeon Harvey Huntington Honeywagon (Keenan Wynn), who wants to evict the surfers from the beach to build a senior citizens' community and who endeavors to prove that his chimp is smarter than American teenagers.
