Short, fairly interesting story of a tree surgeon, McDowall, who comes to a logging camp somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. He tries very hard to be a good logger and falls for Donnell. Another logger, Jones, gives him a hard time, but all ends well when Roddy shows his mettle by saving the foreman's life. There have been very few good stories about logging in the great outdoors other than SOMETIMES A GREAT NOTION, COME AND GET IT, and NEVER GIVE AN INCH. Perhaps they should stop making them? Lyle Talbot took a small role in this film but has distinguished himself in many movies since. The same year this was made, Talbot had the distinction of appearing in one of the funniest films ever done, CHAMPAGNE FOR CAESAR. Talbot is one of those actors the public always recognizes but never remember by name. leave a comment
