Big Timber

Short, fairly interesting story of a tree surgeon, McDowall, who comes to a logging camp somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. He tries very hard to be a good logger and falls for Donnell. Another logger, Jones, gives him a hard time, but all ends well when Roddy shows his mettle by saving the foreman's life. There have been very few good stories about logging in the great outdoors other than SOMETIMES A GREAT NOTION, COME AND GET IT, and NEVER GIVE AN INCH. Perhaps they should stop making them?
