Wallace is at his beeriest in this ghoulish comedy about a man who steals bodies from graves in the name of medical research. Conte is about to be hanged for desecrating graves when he is saved by Beery and his outlaw gang because they need a physician to treat Berry's leg. That taken care of, Beery wants Conte to stay with the gang, but the doctor escapes and sets himself up in a new place. Because of his experiments on corpses, Conte is able to perform surgery and save a woman's life. This was Beery's last movie and not a great way to bring down the curtain on a career that included such memorable movies as GRAND HOTEL; TREASURE ISLAND; AH, WILDERNESS; and his Oscar-winning performance in THE CHAMP. leave a comment
