1961, Movie, NR, 98 mins

Boyd, an Irishman, departs for Africa with his French wife (Greco) and his wimpy cousin (Wayne). They plan to open a trucking business and make all sorts of money. They soon learn that Africa is no easy place to earn a living. In the course of the film they must drive a huge truck into the heart of darkness. A truck like that is a very valuable commodity in that area and literally worth its weight in whatever precious metal can be found. It's a series of misadventures and soon becomes somewhat repetitious, despite the glorious photography and a nice comic relief by Wayne. Ratoff and Thorndyke are wasted, as is Goldblatt, a veteran of the Abbey Players. leave a comment
