This confused story about the fixing of college basketball games follows cager Ken Williams (James Brown) as he is framed by Ann Taylor (Noreen Nash), who is killed, but not before admitting that she brought in the gangsters who corrupted the players. In the absurd finale, Williams'
teammates come to the rescue by giving the gangsters a well-deserved thumping. Interestingly, life imitated art when the basic premise of THE BIG FIX was enacted for real from 1947 to 1951, in a college basketball scandal that involved 7 teams, 32 players, and 86 fixed games.
