There are several very funny moments in this spaghetti western about a bad guy (Van Cleef) who turns good in order to get close to a payroll that he wants to steal. Mitchell is the villain Van Cleef shoots when he attempts to take a second payroll. This was made during the time when
Lionel Stander was living outside the country, a victim of HUAC blacklisting. He was forced to leave the US (after attempting to work on stage and in unrelated fields), moved to Rome, and enjoyed immediate success in movies such as this.
