This sequel to the 1958 classic plays the material for laughs rather than for genuine chills. A worker (Godfrey Cambridge) back from a stint on the Alaska pipeline brings home a frozen segment of the red, jelly-like blob in a thermos; his wife (Marlene Clark) leaves it on the counter, allowing it to thaw. The blob proceeds to consume everything in sight, growing ever larger.
