Constance Bennett plays an American hardware heiress married to a stuffy English lord. After getting angry with her husband, she proceeds to scandalize London society with her wild ways, indulging in such outrageous behavior as wearing black to social events that call for white and throwing a wild tea party that ignores all decorum. The style is veddy, veddy British with its polite manner and sophistication. Director George Cukor, in one of his earliest films, handles the comedy well, with a smart pacing that never drags.
