Bengazi

This fairly interesting adventure story begins in Bengazi and winds up in the Sahara. Conte is a Yank with a history not unlike Ric Blaine's in CASABLANCA and McLaglen is a burly Irishman without a single scruple. They team up with Erdman in a search of gold that Arab nomads hid in an old mosque for safekeeping during WW II. Carlson, a British official, and Powers, McLaglen's daughter, also join in the search. The gold is found, but the natives are angered at the desecration of their house of worship. A battle between the Arabs and the mosque-robbers ends the film.
