Bengal Brigade

Hudson stars as the leader of a troop of Sepoys in India. He leads them into action against his orders, then resigns his commission when he is brought on the carpet. Moss is a villainous rajah bent on heaving the British out of the subcontinent. Hudson convinces Moss that he's a traitor and joins the villain. By fade out, Hudson has saved his Sepoys, his girl friend (Dahl), and her father, Thatcher. Benedek is only as good as his material; he directed THE WILD ONE and DEATH OF A SALESMAN, but he also directed this movie and THE KISSING BANDIT, which just goes to show that no director, no matter how skilled, can triumph over a lousy script.
