BED OF ROSES

Mary Stuart Masterson is a workaholic executive; Christian Slater is her sweet-tempered suitor, a Wall Street dropout who has chosen to simplify his life by opening a flower shop. As he woos her with bouquets and rooftop picnics, she assimilates the expected lessons about living for the moment and making time for love. If you can swallow the notion that running a small business -- probably the most labor-intensive, nerve-wracking endeavor the service economy has to offer -- is a way out of the rat race, you just might be loopy enough to fall for this inert, essentially plotless trifle. leave a comment
