nonexistent at first, unfolds in British Columbia in 1885, detailing the idyllic daily routine of a bear cub. After the cub's mother is killed in a rockslide, however, the youngster must attempt to bond with a 2000-pound Kodiak male being pursued by a pair of hunters--Bill (Wallace), a calm,
calculating veteran, and his young, overeager friend Tom (Karyo).
