BEACH GIRLS is better than one might expect, considering it's basically a 1980s update of the old Frankie Avalon-Annette Funicello beach party movies. Cute girls and guys, fairly good music, outrageous puns, sight gags, and a good-natured sense of fun are mixed in with lots of skin, but at
least nobody in this R-rated feature dies a horrible, slice-and-dice death--which is rare in a teen film of this date.
