This uninteresting and standard war tale stars Sterling Hayden as Captain Russ Edwards, leader of a Korean War helicopter air rescue group. His major task appears to be convincing his pilots that they should heed the maxim, "There are old pilots and there are bold pilots but there are no
old, bold pilots." BATTLE TAXI was made with the cooperation of the Department of Defense, making it seem more a piece of propaganda than anything else and resulting in a film that's all rescues and heroics with very little story in between. It is worthwhile only for the stock footage, courtesy of
the 42nd Air Rescue Squadron.
