The Battle Of The Sexes

Thinly adapted from a Thurber short story, this very funny film features so-called efficiency expert Sellers, a meek and retiring sort, trying to save textile manufacturer Morley from a takeover by shrewd American Cummings. His plan is simple: dispose of the lady. "No need to use violence," Sellers says. "Many a battle has been won without striking a blow." The subtle machinations and plot twists are adroitly presented by director Crichton, who masterminded THE LAVENDER HILL MOB.
